Who doesn't want to eat? Well, I believe most of us does! i love to eat specially when I travel with my girlfriend. We're been to a lot of beautiful places in the Philippines and we've made sure to taste the delectable dishes of each of the places we've visited.
Other would say that you need a fat wallet to be able to travel. For us, we plan ahead, we save, do research and list our itinerary for our travel destination. Included in our top list is the FOOD. We would also check what delicacies does the place offer and how we would get to savor those mouthful dishes?
Starting with our first out of town trip was in Bacolod, the City of Smile. We visited a cake house, Calea which serves mouth-watering cakes and pastries. We have not left Bacolod without tasting "chicken inasal" in chicken house, a place where a whole line of small stores where you can order nothing but chicken. You'll surely enjoy eating with your hands.
We were also able to visit Cebu city. We can't get enough of " Lami kaayo! which means "delicious". You'll be uttering these words a lot for sure if you get to taste the specialties of the place. Brace yourself to the taste of CNT Lechon Cebu and puso(rice wrapped in pandan leaves). Also try danggit(dried fish) and dried squid which are a great to egg and fried rice.
We been also to Naga in Bicol. Hot and spicy foods await your tongue when visiting this place. Prepare a glass of water before eating the Bicol express, laing, spicy dilis and kilawin. For desserts, pili nuts and tarts, as well as coco jam known as santan are the best choices. Next destination was at the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City. I love the cold wether in Baguio, as well as the yummy strawberries. Get a basket enjoy every pick of strawberry in La Trinidad,Benguet. A mouthful dish at 50's dinner(american restaurant),where you get to eat big burgers. Yes, their so apt for big people or should i say small people with big appetite. Then, satisfy your sweet tooth at Good Shepherd's ube jam and other delicacies which was home made by the nuns.
A scenic view of Taal Volcano and cool winds will blow you once you've reached Tagaytay City, where you can indulged your craving for hot dish in Josephine's. It offers Bulalo(bone narrow of a cow cooked in water with other spices). Perfectly matched to warm our stomaches. In Tagaytay, we've also went to Sonia's Garden. a famous place for organic dishes. This is where I first ate a flower in a viand, which I thought at first was a decor. We took home buko pie(coconut pie), coconut tart and fresh pineapples.
It has been an awesome experience to travel especially if you're with your special someone.I can't wait for our next travel adventure and of course for our eating spree. Oh! my stomach is now longing for those foods!
With all the places we've been, we met unique people, we're seen different cultures, got awed at the breath taking sights and satisfied our cravings with variety mouthful dishes. Above all this, we've experienced the grace of God by allowing us to feel His greatness in our travels. I really want thank Him for the opportunity of life bestowed upon us. How great Thou art! And with every moment given to me, I'll not only eat my heart out, laugh my heart out but also blog my heart out!
